ABOUT ME
About Me
I am a successful director of high-quality primetime factual documentaries with over 15 years experience in the top end of the business.
I focus on Science, History and Current Affairs, producing highly rated documentaries for broadcasters on both sides of the Atlantic including the BBC, Discovery, Channel Four, National Geographic & History Channel.
My films - noted for their strong visual style, energy, and clear storytelling - have been critically acclaimed. Prizes so far include an Emmy, a Wildscreen award, and even a "Golden Panda" (an unbeatable honour…).
I have extensive experience with presenter-led and graphic heavy productions, designing and realising many highly complex CGI sequences.
I am a proven & effective team leader, building enduring relationships with many talented cameramen and editors, and consistently generating powerful & compelling performances from on-screen talent.
My projects have taken me filming all over the globe - to the wilder areas of Asia, Africa, & the Americas - and I have spent the last 3 years based in Ethiopia working in very challenging conditions.
On the technical side I am a proficient cameraman and editor, having trained and shot on Canon, Sony and Panasonic cameras and edited on FCP and Adobe Premiere Pro CC.
I also independently produce, film & edit high quality corporate films. Past clients include the Foreign & Commonwealth Office, the World Bank, & the Global Water Initiative.
